Huey at Windermere Air Show 29 July 2006 .
Each year the Rotary Club of Windermere organise an air show in aid of charity. The event is held over two days on the shore of Lake Windermere and includes displays by the Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Army's Red Devils parachute team, together with a static display of helicopters and aircraft such as the tornado.
We were invited to attend with the huey as a static display on the Saturday.
Neil flew her up from Wesham to the Lake District with his dad as “co-pilot” on the Friday evening and then on to the display area on the Saturday morning. The display area is actually a golf course!
The day started off very well, glorious sunshine brought out the crowds and the huey again proved to be a very popular exhibit. We were all kept busy talking to everyone who came over to have a closer look.

Of course, being the Lake District, it started to rain at 3pm! The majority of the crowds disappeared but a few avid aviation enthusiasts braved the weather and lingered in the rain!
We were a little worried that the weather might prevent us from leaving but luckily the rain and the clouds blew over and we were able to fly home just after 5pm.
We would like to thank the Rotary Club for inviting us and hope to be there next year too!
